Insulated Flexible Duct Black Aluminum Foil Noise Reducing Ducting

We included a bathroom exhaust fan in our bathroom remodel and I was looking for a short run of flexible 4" insulated duct. On of the bathroom walls is an exterior wall so I just needed a short run. Other ducts I looked at were longer that I didn't need.While researching ducts I learned the importance of using an insulated one (to prevent condensation from forming from the humid bathroom air which could cause mold/mildew in the attic.)This included two hose clamps and was easy to work with. It fit both the exhaust fan and exhaust vent ports perfectly.

I was previously using a standard/cheap aluminum wire ducting material which radiated a significant amount of heat back into the room. This insulated duct not only reduces that duct heat radiation to almost nothing, but keeps my portable LG 9k BTU unit cooling my office far better than before as a result of it. Only noise I hear is the LG A/C compressor and fan. As you can see in the picture the ducting is running up to the drop ceiling tile, and the previously used aluminum duct is in front of the LG unit. I use this hose to help get more heat into my tent. During very cold camping a non insulated hose loses too much heat. We were heating two tents at one time in 14 degrees and due to heat loss in the hose it was a struggle to keep up. With this hose we don’t have any issues as I can’t feel that the hose is warm from the outside.

A kind Amazon Customer answered my question and said that this "duct silencer" would be suitable to insulate the hose on a portable air conditioning unit. My hose tends to get hot, as I've read is common with these units, and thus reduces the amount of cooling the unit can produce.So far so good!In order to get one slinky hose into the other slinky hose, it is helpful to compress both of them first.Also, these A/C units have 4 ft hoses, so the 8 ft that comes in this package is a bit too much, though you might be able to squeeze it all in there. I chose to cut it down, but I did not measure 4 ft. Instead, I extended them both, laid them down side by side in a relaxed position, and cut to length that way. Then I used duct tape to seal the cut end. However, do not do what I did and cut the "duct silencer" without wearing appropriate protection, as the inside is indeed fiberglass material. Also, this item is made in China, and came to me extremely dusty.

Using in place of original hose on my Whynter portable AC unit which couldn't handle the heat if wrapped in a tarp and blanket (Hose softened and fell out of the connectors). This 6 inch flex hose is great so far but was slightly smaller than the AC connector. Once I cut end of metal ribbing, I was able to force the insulated ribbed end over the connector and use the hose clamp.
